2020: The Year YOU Control Nathan Rabin Officially Begins On March 1st With Danny DeVito Month
As readers of this site are perhaps aware, my big idea for the year is a project called 2020: The Year YOU Control Nathan Rabin. The idea is to give YOU, the kind-hearted, Christ-like, almost unfairly sexy Happy Place patron the opportunity to choose the year’s content by nominating potential theme months for a one-time, ninety nine dollar pledge that would then be voted on by patrons in a big poll.
The idea did not play out quite as I had planned, in no small part because I spent so much time finishing The Weird Accordion to Al and Postal that I did not have sufficient time to set up the feature correctly in a timely fashion.
I am pleased to say that I will still be executing this idea in its entirety, albeit two months late. So instead of beginning in January, as planned, we are going to begin the first week of March with Danny DeVito month.
I’m excited! It’s going to be fun and god knows he’s made so many movies of violently variable quality that I will have a lot to choose from and work with.
Because I am perpetually behind and overwhelmed when it comes to the scheduling of this site, we’re going to be publishing only about half of our usual content the final week of February in order to give me some time to get a backlog going and do 2020: The Year YOU Control Nathan Rabin the right way.
I’m also diligently working on bonus material for the extended version of the Weird Accordion to Al book in the form of articles on individual episodes of The Weird Al Show and Al’s season of Comedy! Bang! Bang! that I’m debuting on the site’s Patreon feed and the book’s Kickstarter.
So if The Weird Accordion to Al has you hankering for even MORE obsessive Al coverage, that’s where you can find it until the extended version of the book’s release.
Yay! Thanks for the patience and for sticking with us. We promise it’ll be worth it and that 2020: The Year YOU Controlled Nathan Rabin will be, if anything, entirely too much fun even if it promises to stretch out into 2021 as well.
