Donald Trump Called for a "Termination" of the Rules, Regulations and Articles of the Constitution and We Collectively Yawned

In the messy aftermath of that whole January 6th kerfuffle, the Q brigade would regularly predict that it was only a matter of time until Donald Trump would be reinstated as President following incontrovertible evidence of widespread electoral fraud.

That obviously did not happen. Rather than concede defeat, these Trump die-hard simply moved the goal post repeatedly and insisted that while Biden’s disgrace and Trump’s return to the White House was inevitable, it would happen slightly later than originally thought.

These predictions seemed to fade with time, however. Then Elon Musk revealed some of the details of internal deliberations at Twitter regarding a New York Post story on Hunter Biden that some felt revealed left-wing bias.

Trump, who has been thirsting for “revelations” like this since Joe Biden CRUSHED him in the 2020 presidential election, felt vindicated so he made one of his trademark Hail Mary plays and decided that the Twitter Hunter Biden situation called for nothing less than THROWING THE CONSTITUTION INTO THE TRASH AND ANOINTING HIM SUPREME LEADER.

The disgraced, twice-impeached, one-term ex-president took to his digital clubhouse over at Truth Social to yell through the internet, “So, with the revelation of MASSIVE & WIDESPREAD FRAUD & DECEPTION in working closely with Big Tech Companies, the DNC, & the Democrat Party, do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION? A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution. Our great "Founders" did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!”

Trump had not waited and not waited impatiently and when he finally got a crumb of semi-evidence that he wasn’t completely deluded, only mostly out of his goddamn mind, he saw it as leverage to angrily demand nothing short of a goddamn coup.

Then again, Trump had some powerful weapons at his disposal. If there was not, for example, undeniable proof of “MASSIVE & WIDESPREAD FRAUD & DECEPTION” in the 2020 elections would he have capitalized those words? You can’t just go around capitalizing things willy-nilly because you’re on an insane, week-long Adderall binge and have a weird grudge against punctuation and the English language.

Bear in mind, Trump wasn’t outright INSISTING that Biden get booted out of office and that he get his old job back. He was merely posing a question on EVERYONE’s mind. He was merely pointing out the MASSIVE & WIDESPREAD FRAUD & DECEPTION, then suggesting that the only two real alternatives involve tossing Biden out of office because the man CLEARLY lost or, having a do-over election where a certain orange-skinned former reality show host would undoubtedly repeat the results of a “sacred landslide election victory” that was “so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away from great patriots who have been badly & unfairly treated for so long.”

Trump then goes on to humbly suggest that the thing that was enraging him at that particular moment was so utterly vast and all-consuming that it “allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution.”

Trump is graciously acknowledging that what he wants—being installed in the White House on specious grounds or a participant in a do-over election he’d surely win, what with the incredible boat parades he inspired and whatnot—is not exactly allowed by the Constitution.

That’s not a problem for Trump. This is such an emergency, in his mind, that it calls for what is essentially declaring martial law, throwing out the election and making him president.

To say that Trump’s post about terminating “all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution” because he’s butt-hurt over losing was not well received is like saying that Kanye’s pro-Hitler rhetoric has not gone over well.

Democrats have condemned Trump’s words as dangerous, incendiary rhetoric. His critics within the Republican Party have used it as further evidence that he’s a dangerous, power-mad extremist.

Trump has walked it back disingenuously, once again taking to Truth Social to shout, “The Fake News is actually trying to convince the American People that I said I wanted to ‘terminate’ the Constitution. This is simply more DISINFORMATION & LIES, just like RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA, and all of their other HOAXES & SCAMS. What I said was that when there is ‘MASSIVE & WIDESPREAD FRAUD & DECEPTION,’ as has been irrefutably proven in the 2020 Presidential Election, steps must be immediately taken to RIGHT THE WRONG. Only FOOLS would disagree with that and accept STOLEN ELECTIONS. MAGA!”

It’s hard to criticize or argue a post with so much sweaty, desperate capitalization but Trump is once again trying to pull a Jedi Mind Trick and convince the public that he did not do or say what he clearly just said or did. In this case that’s arguing that a crime the magnitude of Biden being named winner of the 2020 presidential election just because he got more electoral votes is so severe that it allows for the termination of the rules, regulations, and articles found in the Constitution.

Here’s the thing, though. Nobody fucking cares. This isn’t going to be the end of Trump as a 2024 candidate. It won’t even hurt him. We’re used to this horse shit from him. He’s like a child who yells and screams and runs around causing as much destruction as possible that you learn to ignore because he desperately wants any kind of attention, even of the starkly negative variety.

This is, after all, a man who was caught on tape bragging about grabbing women by their genitalia, then was elected to the highest office in the world. Breathlessly insisting that we give the Constitution the boot and make him President again is mild by Trump’s standards.

We’ve seen worse before. We’ll see worse before this crazy shit show is over.

We’ve learned to ignore Trump, his madness and his delusions. That makes sense and is sensible and sane on some level even as there are HUGE dangers in underestimating and dismissing the man and his followers.
