When it comes to Diddy and everything else, Kanye is Far Right and Always Wrong
Since the whole Diddy kerfluffle, Kanye West has been one of the disgraced mogul’s most vocal and passionate celebrity defenders. He’s also one of Diddy’s only celebrity defenders. Diddy is toxic and radioactive right now. He will hopefully remain toxic and radioactive when he dies in prison.
That has not kept the similarly disgraced producer-turned-rapper-turned-Nazi from not only agitating for Diddy’s release but collaborating with him on “Lonely Roads Still Go To Sunshine”.
To make things even ickier, “Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine” features Diddy's son Christian and Kanye’s 11-year-old daughter North West.
Needless to say, the child’s collaboration with one of the most reviled figures in the history of pop music did not please her mother, Kim Kardashian.
In a post that tagged Donald Trump, who is rumored to be considering a pardon, Kanye screeched semi-coherently, “ALL THESE CELEBRITY N----S AND B-----S IS P---Y YALL A WATCH OUR BROTHER ROT AND NEVER SAY S---.
THEY TRYNA PROVE A POINT AND YALL KNOW THAT YALL F---ING KNOW THAT AND SITTING LAUGHING AT THE F---ING INTERNET ON INSTAGRAM THIS MAN GAVE HIS LIFE TO US THIS MY IDOL THIS MY HERO.
"WHAT YALL GONE DO CANCEL MY SNEAKER DEAL CANCEL MY RECORD DEAL FREEZE MY ACCOUNTS F--- ALL YALL N----S SLAVERY IS A CHOICE IM SPEAKING MY MIND NOW I AINT EDITING S--- AGAIN EVER."
"JUST FOR CLARITY THEY TYRING TO MAKE AN EXAMPLE OUT OF PUFF ME AND MY BROTHER HAD OUR ISSUES BUT THESE WHITE PEOPLE TRYING TO USE PUFF TO SCARE N----S IM NEITHER SCARED NOR BRAVE THIS JUST ME.”
This made me think about the time in 2022, after Kanye began selling “White Lives Matter” tee-shirts but before he went full-on Nazi, when the Hitler lover leaked a series of text messages between him and a man he has hailed as a hero and inspiration.
Diddy earned Kanye’s incandescent rage with the exceedingly mild observation that a black man releasing t-shirts with a racist trope was, at the very least, “tone deaf.”
Kanye was deeply insulted by Diddy’s words and expressed his anger with his trademark combination of arrogance, incoherence, and messy drama.
Diddy wanted to discuss the matter face-to-face. He reportedly texted Kanye, "As soon as I land, we'll meet face to face!!! Send me an address,” and then, “Send me an address. Let’s stop playing these internet games. And don't feel threatened. You'll be fine. Just love.”
Kanye was having none of it. He insisted that Diddy was “sent by Jews” and a “fed.”
Why would a man who thought Diddy was an agent of both the federal government and the international Jewish conspiracy before his dramatic public downfall gush publicly about his love for the man now?
I had previously wondered why a deviant like Diddy would act as if he had the moral authority to advise Kanye, given his own crimes. Then again, it doesn’t take much moral authority to ask an associate to maybe cut it with the white supremacist trolling, as that is a very bad look for a black man.
It's also worth noting that Bill Cosby spent decades shaking an angry figure in stern, sour judgment at young black men he found lacking during his decades-long spree as a prolific drugger and defiler of women.
It would be foolish to expect consistency from someone as mentally ill, drug-addled, and obsessed with attention and provocation as Kanye.
In 2022, the angry, paranoid voices inside Kanye’s head screamed that Diddy couldn’t be trusted because he was an FBI informant trying to silence and censor him at the behest of the evil Jews who controlled the world and were destroying his life, career, and mental health.
In 2025, the angry voices had moved on. Now they yelled that Diddy was being railroaded because he was powerful by an angry white establishment that, to be fair, made him rich and famous, enabled his decades of horrific crimes, and required clear-cut video evidence before doing anything.
Kanye is a little like Kelly, The Onion’s brilliant parody of political cartoons. Kelly isn’t traditionally left or right so much as he’s wrong. Regardless of the issue, Kelly is wrong.
The same is true of Kanye. When Diddy, in a fit of reasonableness, mildly criticized some of Kanye’s anti-black racism, he flew into a rage and saw it as the product of the FBI and an international Jewish conspiracy acting through the accused sex criminal.
That was wrong. It’s equally wrong to advocate extensively for someone who faces the end of their career and freedom because of all of the horrible things they’ve done for decades, rather than a sinister conspiracy to frame an innocent black man.
Incidentally, Kanye recently posted the latest in a series of half-hearted apologies to Jews. He claimed to be “done with anti-semitism” because he loves everybody.
It was ostensibly the right thing to do, but the wrong way to do it. It’s too little, too late. If I made anti-black racism the core of my persona and career for years, wore a Klansman robe publicly and published books with titles like Black People are Genetically Inferior and then announced that I was done with racism and loved everyone, I’d get the same response that Kanye did when he said his rabid Jew hatred had run its course. No one would believe me, just like no one believes Kanye.
Kanye gets so many things so spectacularly wrong that it’s almost impressive. That doesn’t look like it will change anytime soon. Whether the subject of Diddy or the Jews, he’s stubbornly committed to never being on the right side of history OR the present. He may be far right-wing, but mostly he’s just wrong.
