For One Week Only, Monthly and Yearly Subscriptions at Nathan Rabin's Bad Ideas
Father’s Day is upon us, so I figured it would be a good time to launch my Substack newsletter, Nathan Rabin’s Bad Ideas. very first sale in its three years of existence.
For those who are unfamiliar, Nathan Rabin’s Bad Ideas is a magical fantasy land where I almost NEVER write about Donald Trump or my lifelong battle with depression. I just write about pop culture. People seem to enjoy it! I’m pretty good at it, and it doesn’t make people uncomfortable with excessive displays of emotion.
For the next week, the cost of a yearly subscription will be $ 35 rather than $ 50. That’s a 300 percent savings! Or not. I was bad at math. I’ve also accidentally slashed the cost of monthly paid subscriptions to 3.50. At that price, it would be a sin and a shame NOT to sign up.
If a bitter unwillingness to pay five dollars monthly is all that’s keeping you from becoming a paid subscriber, you’re in luck! Now you have NO reason not to hop onboard the Paid Subscriber train. We’ll be winding through Financial Desperation Canyon and Economic Optimism Lane en route to the Island of Tortured Metaphors.
I’m in danger of having the first month in over a year where I lose more paid subscribers than I gain. I would love for that not to happen, as momentum is crazily essential. Once it starts going in the wrong direction, it can be very difficult to stop. I don’t want that to happen to this site, which became markedly less successful, lucrative, and financially viable over time, to happen to Nathan Rabin’s Bad Ideas.
For one modest annual sum, you can vote in polls and have exclusive reviews and Joy of Positivity thrice-weekly picks and excerpts from The Fractured Mirror. I’ll be adding new columns and features throughout the year. As a paid subscriber, you can help determine what I write about and how.
The more income this generates, the more time, energy, and emotion I can invest in it. Additionally, it’s beneficial for my fragile self-esteem. Give yourself and me an early Father’s Day gift by taking advantage of this limited-time offer.
